It sure is a Big apple alright!

Here I am with my next batch of photos from my exciting trip! I've just spent the last 3 and a half weeks in New York City, what a place! Have included a few photos from LA where I was before that...

Venice beach, LA, much less about the beach than the shopping and hanging out on the boardwalk, as you can tell from the lack of people in this picture!

Me, up close and personal with the Hollywood sign...

Well, not quite!

And then I arrived in the big apple! So much to see!

Times Square in all its glory - flashing lights, signs, crowds, and your stereotypical yellow american schoolbus!

...overwhelming buildings towering overhead...

Magazine shoots on the sidewalk, of course! And a crazy lady with a bubble gun...

DUMBO (Down Under the Manhatten Bridge Overpass)

Central Park - its such a lovely place to hang out and escape from NY's hectic pace...

A lady just having a wee nap...

The whole tourist set-up!

...and Christine getting her picture drawn...

The little cultural precincts... Little Italy

Chinatown

The graffiti art everywhere was awesome, you see the same person's work all over the place, its cool!

I even got to see some people doing their magic!

I got to check out heaps of art work, I especially loved the Olafur Elaisson exhibition, but unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take photos of his coolest stuff...

Cris and I having a bit of fun...

Cris and I discovered M'n'M world, along with the power of branding... that place is insane!
(check out the bacground of the photo, ha ha ha)

And we got to witness an amusing series of events at a little cafe in Alphabet City, owned by a slightly elitist French woman, who told these “uneducated” teenage black girls to get off her bench outside, to which they replied it was a “free world”, after which there was some pushing and shoving, a ten minute lull, then the return of the girls with their irate mother, who barged her way into the cafĂ© and attempted to lay a couple of blows, all while we were quietly sipping away, pretending not to be taking photos! The French lady called the cops, so the NYPD showed up… now that’s a NY experience!

Christine and Mike, after an awesome gig at the Bowery Ballroom with Midnight Juggernauts and Shy Child.

And another gig at The Living Room...

A roof top beer garden!

And a massive street festival in Brooklyn...

...with all sorts of amazing food...

...and people trying to convert you to Scientology!

Vic and Gareth, and Rose and Pete in the background on the train journey to Fire Island for the day to hang out with some crazy Venezuelans...

And all of us trying to shelter from the wind at a beach on the island, before an awesome beach soccer match, NZ vs Venezuela... the outcome was highly debated!

But now I've moved on, and am hanging out in Berlin. Will post a new batch of photos soon so stay tuned!

Hasta la Vegas baby!

So there was unprecedented demand for more Vegas photos, and seeing as they are in my possession I guess that makes it my responsibility... So without further ado, I present to you " One night in Vegas with Team Extreme"

The boys, as usual, set the mark for fashion, styling their favourite party shirts and fitting right in... even receiving some honks and comments from passers-by as we walked the streets.

So we headed out into the thick of it all, the lights, the noise, the drunk people wasting their life savings.... there was a lot to take in!

Luckily Jacqui was on to it and pointed us in the right direction, the Sahara, where we had heard a sneaky rumour of $6.95 buffet dinner...

All we had to do was join the Sahara club for free!

So we proceeded to fill our bellies to the brim, and before we knew it, we could barely move! ( Note the sneaky nalgene drink bottle filled with gin on the table!)

We tried to power on despite the mountains that had formed in our stomachs. Struggling, we entered the gambling hall, but Jacqui seemed to be the only one who could muster any gambling enthusiasm...
But we all had a giggle at this - I mean, seriously, who names games "Craps" and "Crapless Craps", pshhhhh!

At the end of the night it was time for the five of us to go back and squeeze into our double bedroom hotel room, but it was agreed that Vegas had rightly been conquered by Team Extreme!

(This one's for you Crustburger!)
